About Us

Mission Statement:

The purpose of the Webster Square Business Association is to ensure that the Webster Square area remains a flourishing commercial destination by creating a favorable business environment, fostering long-lasting relationships, making the district active for visitors, and supporting the local community.

Business Promotion:

WSBA's top priority is increasing the commercial activity in out area and in your organization. Efforts such as group marketing programs on radio and newspaper, customer incentives and contests, and discounted advertising for new members are examples of how we can help your business.

Networking:

WSBA provides many opportunities for members to build rapport, give referrals, and exchange information with each other:

  • Monthly Meetings
  • Holiday Party
  • Annual Awards Banquet
  • Golf Tournament to raise money for scholarship program
  • Promotions, including inexpensive advertising opportunities
  • WSBA website with links to members' sites

Advocacy:

WSBA serves as a watch dog and advocacy group for issues that effect our businesses, such as traffic, taxes, litter, public safety, and parking. We are a liason to local, regional, and state governments, as well as other business associations, to ensure that the interests of our membership are met.

Beautification:

A safe, clean, and attractive Webster Square is crucial to the success of our local businesses. Partnering with the City of Worcester, WSBA oversaw a $150,000 tree-planting project in the district. Together we maintain those trees, plus dozens of shrubs and island planters. We work hard to control litter and protect local open spaces.

Community Goodwill:

WSBA proudly supports and encourages young people in our community by employing teens, partnering with schools, and awarding annual scholarships. During the holiday season, we purchase gifts for needy children and host a tree lighting program for families in our neighborhood.

A Good Value:

Membership in WSBA is a great value. For only $55 a year, you receive the potentially limitless benefits of networking and collaborating with over 350 local businesses. Working together, we can keep Webster Square a flourishing commercial destination for many years to come.
